New Year Luncheon
19 January 2014
Honolulu Chapter 56 celebrated the New Year
with a luncheon. All table centerpieces and
arrangements in the accompanying exhibit were to use
equisedum, commonly known as horsetail, in honor of
this being the Year of the Horse. After lunch
Ms. Tinius provided a brief talk on the origins and
development of ikebana and some of its relations to
art and religion. She then demonstrated the
two basic Ikenobo forms, Rikka and Shoka, as well as
free style.
