Pacific Club

The members of Honolulu Chapter 56 welcomed the start of autumn with a luncheon at the Pacific Club.  Eight members created special arrangements and eight others provided floral centerpieces for each table. After a brief business meeting, First Vice President Karen Kirk called current President Ethel Aotani and past president Bette Uyeda up to the podium to honor them for the exceptional job they did on the 50th Anniversary Celebration and for guiding our chapter into becoming a 501(c)(3) organization. She presented them with gift certificates to Flowers & Fun as an expression of our chapter’s appreciation.

A beautiful buffet of salads and hot entrees followed. The main program featured the “Lesser Known Gems of Ikebana.” During this demonstration, Pat Kimoto presented the Ichiyo School, Miwa Miura presented Kado Sangetsu and Ele Potts of the Garden Club shared her special talents in flower arranging. Chapter members gained valuable new knowledge about these floral arranging techniques.
