Doctors George
and Willa Tanabe explained about Japanese New
Year's traditions and foods. Their
comments were laced with entertaining
historical examples and personal stories on
how traditions adapt to the circumstances of
the times. Arrangements exhibited used
Japanese and Chinese lunch boxes in creative
ways and six people won centerpieces arranged
in homemade pottery by Jean Marutani.
