Last Fall, under the direction of Misako Ito, wife of the Consulate General of Japan, Chapter 56 sensei created ikebana arrangements to commemorate the birthday of Emperor Akihito. Care was taken to use flowers and colors that would honor the Emperor’s last year on the Chrysanthemum Throne.
