Honolulu Chapter 56 Aloha Luncheon
Sunday, May 20, 2012 Honolulu Chapter 56’s year drew to close with a luncheon to thank the outgoing Board and welcome the new Board for June 2012 to May 31, 2014. Approximately 65 members gathered at the Oahu Country Club. Friendship through flowers was expressed in the 8 arrangements that incorporated a lei, and the festive centerpieces on each table. Outgoing President Ethel Aotani called for final reports from various chairpersons and then gave a report on the I.I. Convention. The Outgoing Board members were recognized for their accomplishments which included the 2011 50th Anniversary celebration, the Splendors of Ikebana and the continuing community service projects we provide through out the year. The Incoming Board members were asked to assemble and receive their black binders with board information and a rose. Incoming President Karen Kirk presented Ethel with a President’s gift. Pat Kubo conducted the installation of new officers. Misty rains drifted down from the Koolaus as if to bless this ceremony, as everyone joined hands and sang Hawaii Aloha. click on an image for a larger view |
