Forty-nine members and guests of chapter 56 celebrated the Year of the Dragon at Natsunoya Tea House. Emcee Joyce Nakamura’s debut established her as a natural and entertaining host. Pat Kubo, assisted by Marsha Curnyn, provided members with fortune telling. After a sumptuous buffet lunch, multi-talented Pat Kubo taught everyone how to create their own ribbon holder and some movements for the ancient Chinese Ribbon Dance. This dance proved to be a joyful and lively exercise for all. Lisa Lee kept everyone excited and amused with her delivery of the door prize giveaways. There was a grand door prize donated by Joyce Nakamura. Her calligraphy sensei, Hideko Usami, created stunning green dragon calligraphy. This went to a lucky person born in the Year of the Dragon.
