I.I. Chapter 56 prepared
for Hinamatsuri
(Girl's Day) on March 3 by learning more
about how the day is celebrated in Japan and creating
a wrapped arrangement. Shisho
Kikuta brought and set up her complete set of
traditional Girl's Day Hina dolls, pointing out the
different tiers for the Emperor and Empress, Ladies in
Waiting, musicians, and other attendents,
transportation and household goods. Charmaine
then lead the group in wrapping a typical glass vase
in washi paper and creating an arrangement
incorporating colored mizuhiki. The organizers
even brought typical Girl's Day treats, both Japanes
and Hawaiian, for participants to enjoy.
