		A beautiful, breezy day on

		Waikiki
 Beach was the backdrop for
a spectacular Gala Anniversary Luncheon. The luncheon was preceded by a
boutique featuring pottery, unique jewelry, kimono silk fashions and
		hand made cards.

The Hyatt ballroom was set in white linens on twenty two tables
with special pink and green floral centerpieces designed by Sensei
		Elaine Arita of the Ohara

School. A specially designed program filled
with pictures, history, and articles to commemorate the anniversary, was
		placed at each setting.

		After a brief business meeting,
		Japan
Consul General Kamo gave a word of thanks for
Hawaii’s outpouring of concern and aid for Japan’s disastrous earthquake and
		tsunami.

A delicious buffet followed and the highlight of the day began.
		Mrs. Kika Shibata, Riji, of

		Sogetsu
 School delighted the
audience with her deft hands and quick wit. She created innovative
arrangements in rapid succession and stunned the audience with a huge
arrangement of gold glazed monstera, large fan palms, orchids,
anthuriums, and heliconia as her finale. Below are pictures of her
		creations.
